Summary

IT IS USEFUL TO CONSIDER THE WHOLE SYSTEM AS THE COMBINATION OF AN ENERGY CONVERSION AND A REFRIGERATION SUBSYSTEM. THE ENERGY CONVERSION SUBSYSTEM MAY CONSIST OF A HEATER TO BE USED WITH AN ABSORPTION COOLING UNIT OR OF EITHER A RANKINE CYCLE OR A PHOTOVOLTAIC GENERATOR TO BE USED WITH A VAPOUR COMPRESSION REFRIGERATOR. THE EFFICIENCIES OF THE VARIOUS SUBSYSTEMS ARE CONSIDERED SEPARATELY, THEN IN COMBINATION. THE DISCUSSION OF THE MAIN THREE SYSTEMS APPLIED IN KOWEIT FOR A 1 M2 SURFACE AREA COLLECTOR IS PRESENTED IN TERMS OF PROPOSED COOLING INDICES.
