Summary

The authors study the energy losses in the components of refrigerating machines-water chillers. They show the possibility of decreasing them. According to the method proposed, they examine the operation of the 2MKT refrigerating machines which are mass-produced. They observe that most of energy losses are due to losses in the integral electrical motors and valves, to mechanical losses and, to a lesser extent, to losses in the evaporator and condenser. Recommendations are given for improving these water chillers. C.C.
