Summary

CRYSTALLIZATION WAVES IN HELIUM 3 WHICH CAN PROPAGATE AT T LOWER THAN 1 MILLIK ARE CONSIDERED. IT IS SHOWN THAT THE ONLY MECHANISM OF RESIDUAL ATTENUATION OF SUCH OSCILLATIONS IS THE EMISSION OF SPIN WAVES IN SOLID ANTIFERROMAGNETIC HELIUM3 AND THAT THE EXISTENCE OF SURFACE MAGNETIZATION MAY LEAD TO A NONMONOTONOUS DEPENDENCE OF THE RESIDUAL ATTENUATION ON THE WAVE NUMBER. AN EXPERIMENTAL OBSERVATION WOULD BE A CONVINCING PROOF OF THE EXISTENCE OF SURFACE FERROMAGNETISM.
