Australasian version of BinMaker: the weather summary tool, including hourly weather data from 25 locations for energy calculations. [CD-ROM + users manual.]

Summary

The Australasian version of BinMaker is in SI (metric) units; it is the result of collaboration between the Gas Research Institute (USA) and the Australian Gas Association Gas Cooling Task Force. The programme was inspired by the well-known and widely-used BIN data presented in the US Department of Defense's "Engineering Weather Data Manual". The CD-ROM-based programme allows engineers to summarise weather data in different ways for various purposes. It is the most well-documented and complete set of hourly weather data available for Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea (the 25 locations were selected from 58 available locations and cover the major population centres of this area). It summarises a year's worth of hourly weather observations into a smaller data set. These small, easy-to-use summary data sets can then be opened in a spreadsheet program and used for energy calculations.
