Summary
A major exercise to transform the Bangladesh shrimp processing industry to implement HACCP programmes in Bangladesh has shown convincing results. While the total cost of upgrading the industry represents nearly 10% of the export earnings, it only takes about 1% thereafter to maintain the programme annually.
