BASIC STUDY ON HIGH PERFORMANCE HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS ACCOMPANYING TWO-PHASE COMPRESSION PROCESS.

Author(s) : OZAKI K.

Summary

TWO-PHASE COMPRESSION HEAT PUMP CYCLES HAVE BEEN STUDIED THEORETICALLY TO CLARIFY THE OPTIMUM LIQUID INJECTION CONDITIONS AS A FIRSTAND BASIC STEP FOR DEVELOPING THE HIGHER PERFORMANCE HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS, WHICH RECOVER THE HEAT FROM A 423 K (150 DEG C) HEAT SOURCE AND SUPPLY 573 K (300 DEG C) TEMPERATURE THERMAL OUTPUT. IN THE CASE WHERE THE WORKING FLUID IS WATER, THE COP IS IMPROVED BY UTILIZING TWO-PHASE COMPRESSION PROCESS AND THERE EXISTS AN OPTIMUM GAS-LIQUID RATIO WHICH BRINGS THE MAXIMUM VALUE OF COP.
