Calculating the movement of air in buildings: an emerging design tool.

Le calcul des mouvements d'air dans les locaux : un outil de conception qui émerge.

Author(s) : HOFFMANN J. B.

Type of article: Article

Summary

The article introduces EOL 3D, a computer program designed to simulate the flow of air and of pollutants in ventilated locations, specially conceived to deal with air quality and ventilation problems in industrial and tertiary industrial locations. The programme deals with steady, incompressible, three-dimensional flows, whether laminar or turbulent, and takes into consideration anisothermal phenomena such as natural convection and forced convection. Also takes into account the transport of passive pollutants and aerosols.
