Summary

Describes an investigation of the cell gas-diffusion process for rigid polyurethane foams using water/CO2 and pentane as blowing agents. Based on measurements of the cell gas composition by gas chromatography, the gas diffusion coefficients were determined and a calculation model established for the prediction of the long-term gas diffusion process. Presents the positive findings of the investigations for aging of 25 year old insulation slabs for the two blowing agents.
