Summary
A uniform method to calculate basic parameters for gravity-fed evaporators was formulated on the basis of the latest achievements in the calculation of refrigerant two-phase flow pressure drop in straight pipes and pipe components. Gravity-fed evaporators have a unique self-regulation ability and are among the most efficient and reliable in operation in refrigeration and heat-pump systems, provided that they are correctly designed.
