Summary

A MODIFIED HEAT FLOW METER IS USED TO DETERMINE THE SOLAR HEAT GAIN THROUGH GLASS WINDOWS WHICH COMPRISES A MAJOR PART OF THE TOTAL AIR CONDITIONING HEAT LOAD. THIS METHOD, THE INNER HEAT SOURCE HEAT FLOW METER METHOD, USES AN ORDINARY TEMPERATURE GRADIENT TYPE HEAT FLOW METER WITH A CONSTANT ELECTROTHERMAL PLATE ATTACHED TO FORM THE MEASURING PROBE. MEASURING POINTS ARE REQUIRED ONLY IN THE INSIDE OF THE ROOM TO BE TESTED, WHICH GREATLY FACILITATE THE MEASUREMENT WORK. THE PRECISION OF MEASURING RESULTS IS ALSO INCREASED DUE TO FEWER POINTS. THEORETICAL ANALYSIS AND ACTUAL EXPERIMENTS PROVED THAT THIS IS A CONVENIENT AND PRACTICAL METHOD FOR THE ONSITE DETERMINATION OF THE AIR CONDITIONING HEAT LOAD.
