Summary
The capacity of a standard unit air cooler was measured according to ENV 328. In comparison to the alternatives R134a and R407A, R22 shows the best heat transfer performance in the cooler. With zeotrope refrigerants the choice of the reference temperature has a great influence on the capacity data. Referring to the saturated gas outlet as used in ENV 328, the capacity data of R407A are up to 26% higher compared to R22.
