CFC handling: the importance of a practical approach.
Author(s) : GARTSHORE J.
Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
Certification of competence in the handling of CFC refrigerants is vital for today's refrigeration service engineer. Only an examination of an applicant's practical skills can guarantee efficient handling in practice. The City & Guilds Institute (UK) has now introduced such certification. It will be granted for a 100% pass in practical tests together with a knowledge of the regulations governing storage and transportation of refrigerants and the various safety and health codes involved. Certification centres will be monitored regularly to maintain standards. Various courses may lead to this examination. Many practising engineers may apply for and pass the test without further training. D.W.H.
