Summary

The paper presents some peculiarities of cryostating systems based on an adsorption principle such as that providing continuous cooling. The existence of a minimum cryostating temperature is presented as well as the relation between the adsorbent cooling temperature and the cryostating temperature at which the refrigerating capacity of the adsorption cryogenic refrigerator (ACR) is zero. For cryostating at temperatures lower than 65 K, the best adsorbent-working agent system, namely activated carbon-oxygen, is used. A mathematical satisfactory model of the ACR has been developed. The task of optimizing the ACR has been set and solved.
