Summary

This contribution will give an introduction in into the DSC procedure developed within the IEA ECES Annexes 24 and 29 as well as SHC Task 42. Additionally results are presented on work which has been carried out to develop procedures for the measurement of PCM´s thermal conductivity and viscosity. This development started within Annex 29 and SHC Task 42 and will be continued in the following up ECES Annex 33 and SHC Task 58. As thermal stability of PCM is also an important issue to bring these materials into applications a new aim will be to develop guidelines for test procedures to determining it. So the objective of this work is to establish measurement procedures and guidelines for the characterization and test of PCMs that will make it possible to compare data obtained by different institution and to asses it on a defined basis.
