ALTHOUGH THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCES OF BUILDINGS STRONGLY DEPEND ON IT, THE THERMAL INERTIA IS STILL POORLY KNOWN AND BADLY CONTROLLED. BY THIS, THE AUTHOR MEANS ALL THE CHARACTERISTICS WHICH RULE THE DYNAMIC THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF BUILDINGS, EXCLUDING THE STATIC PARAMETERS WHICH ARE A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE STEADY STATE. THE TOOLS DERIVED FROM MODAL MODELLING OF THE THERMAL TRANSFERS MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO ANALYZE AND DESCRIBE THIS INERTIA PRECISELY. A SIMPLIFIED DESCRIPTION OF THE INERTIA CAN BE DEDUCED FORM T AE. THE INFLUENCE OF THE DESIGN CHOICES ON THE INERTIA IS SHOWN, THROUGH ITS EFFECT ON THIS SIMPLIFIED REPRESENTATION.
