Chemical reaction kinetics in a chemical heat pump.

Author(s) : WOJCIK A. M. W., HAIJE W. G., MASCHMEYER T., et al.

Summary

Within the overall project to design a chemical heat pump for the upgrade of waste heat, gas phase reaction kinetics of the dehydrogenation of 2-propanol at a low partial pressure are determined for 5 different types of catalysts with high selectivity. For these catalysts the values of kinetic parameters are estimated using an analytical solution for the differential equation that describes the dehydrogenation. From the obtained values the authors conclude that the catalyst support has a big influence on the chemical apparent reaction kinetics.
