Saving energy with cogeneration in a brewery.
Type of article: Article, Case study
Summary
The new system features a gas turbine cogeneration plant uses a low-NO(x) premixed lean burn combustion system to generate high pressure steam. This steam is used to run a steam turbine-driven refrigerating machine. In turn, exhaust steam turbine is used to drive a CFC-free ammonia absorption-refrigerating machine. The ammonia absorption machine is the first of its kind to be used in a brewery in Japan.
