Succeeding in grafting cogeneration onto an existing plant.
Réussir la greffe d'une cogénération sur une installation ancienne.
Author(s) : DESJARDINS C.
Type of article: Article, Case study
Summary
The potential energy savings that could be achieved by introducing cogeneration mainly concern the tertiary sector. In this case, we can talk of a graft onto an existing plant. However, for this operation to be successful, some precautions need to be taken. These precautions are detailed using a concrete example. This example illustrates why some plants are not as efficient as they should be, despite what the people that sell them say.
