Summary
Cold acclimation of "Miridon" and "Tifgreen" turf bermudagrasses (Cynodon dactylon L. Pers. x C. transvaalensis Burtt-Davy) induced tolerance to lower freezing temperature and altered protein synthesis in crowns. Lethal temperature values for 50% of plants were lowered by about 5 K after 4 weeks in controlled-environment chambers under cold acclimation (8-2 deg C day-night cycles with a 10 hour photoperiod) vs non-cold acclimation (28-24 deg C) conditions.
