Summary

A VAST REBUILDING AND CAPACITY EXPANSION PROGRAM WAS LAUNCHED IN 1977 IN SOME CZECHOSLOVAK COLD STORES. THE FIRST WAS BRNO COLD STORE, WHERE THE EXPANSION PROGRAM HAD TO BE REALIZED WITHOUT ANY RESTRICTION OF THE PRODUCTION SCHEDULE. THE FIRST STEP WAS BUILDING A STANDBY STORAGE AND PRODUCTION CAPACITY INCLUDING THE IMPORT OF A COMPLETE COLD STORE FACILITY FROM POLAND, REPRESENTING 22,500 M3 OF STORAGE SPACE FOR 245 TO 243 K (-28 TO -30.C) STORAGE TEMPERATURE, WITH A UTILISATION EFFICIENCY AS HIGH AS 67,9% OF THE OVERALL GROSS BUILDING VOLUME. THE OVERALL CAPACITY OF BRNO COLD STORE WILL INCREASE FROM 13,000 TO 38,000 M3, ITS FREEZING CAPACITY FROM 30 TO 90 TONS / 24 HOURS AND PRODUCTS PROCESSING CAPACITY#FROM 2,500 TO 5,000 TONS PER YEAR. AT THE SAME TIME THE MODERNISATION OF FURTHER COLD STORES IN TABOR AND SEDLEC ARE BEING STARTED.
