Summary
A MODEL FOR COMBINED SOLAR AND AIR-SOURCE COLLECTOR EVAPORATORS HAS BEEN FORMULATED BASED ON EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS AND ANALYTICAL CONSIDERATIONS. THE MODEL IS SUITABLE FOR INCORPORATION IN COMPUTER PROGRAMS USED FOR THE DETERMINATION OF PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF SOLAR AND AIR-SOURCE HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS. THE PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EXPERIMENTAL HEAT PUMP HAVING SOLAR-SOURCE, AIR-SOURCE, AND COMBINED SOLAR-AIR-SOURCE MODES OF OPERATION ARE COMPARED.
