AS A COST AND ENERGY-SAVING MEASURE, THE NEW EYE-EAR-NOSE-AND-THROAT CLINIC OF THE HEIDELBERG POLYCLINIC WAS FITTED WITH AN INTEGRATED ENERGY PLANT COMPRISING A NATURAL GAS COMBUSTION ENGINE, AN ELECTRIC MOTOR GENERATOR AND A SCREW COMPRESSOR. THE PLANT THUS CAN PROVIDE REFRIGERATION, HEATING, ELECTRIC POWER AND EMERGENCY POWER. OPERATING DATA GATHERED DURING THE FIRST YEAR ARE PRESENTED.
