Comparative study of the feasibility of solar air conditioning for arid and rural areas.

Author(s) : HAMED A. M.

Summary

A comparison of solar powered air conditioning systems is presented. Suggestions for choosing solar air conditioning system considering the ambient conditions (temperature, humidity and radiation intensity) are discussed. Water-lithium bromide continuous absorption, vapour compression, ejector and open cycle lithium-chlorine solar powered cooling systems are chosen for analysis. Open cycle lithium-chlorine solar cooling system is shown to be superior to other alternatives in hot and dry climates.
