[In German. / En allemand.]

Type of article: Article
Summary
On account of the age structure of the porthole container vessels in service, it can be seen that the majority of these vessels and of the container slot capacity were built in the seventies and will have to be replaced by new vessels in the near future. The question will arise whether these new vessels are to be designed for porthole containers or for integrated containers. In the article a comparison is drawn between these container systems from technical, operational and economic aspects.
