Summary
REGENERATORS WERE FABRICATED FROM COMPOSITE MATERIALS DESIGNED FOR THERMAL RESPONSE CHARACTERISTICS USEFUL IN CRYOCOOLERS. THE COMPOSITE MATERIALS CONSIST OF A HIGH-THERMAL-CONDUCTIVITY COMPONENT DISPERSED IN A HIGH-HEAT-CAPACITY MATRIX. TEST DATA FOR SEVERAL COMPOSITE MATERIALS COMBINATIONS ARE PRESENTED. REGENERATORS OF THIS TYPE COULD MAKE POSSIBLE LIGHTER AND MORE EFFICIENT CRYOCOOLERS. APPLICATIONS ARE BRIEFLY DISCUSSED.
