Summary

The design of a refrigerating machine, operating with refrigerants able to form a solid phase in the low pressure circuit, is examined. An operating compartment, similar to those used in some freeze-driers, is used as an evaporator (sublimer). The results of experimental investigations of such a freeze-drier, using carbon dioxide as a refrigerant, are presented. C.C.
