Type of article: Article
Summary
Five tables give specifications, the fluid used, the swept volume and applications (high, medium or low temperatures) of currently available compressors that run on neither CFCs or HCFCs, including hermetic, semi-hermetic, screw, scroll and open compressors. The choice of fluids is limited to R134a and R404. R507, R407B and R600a are offered for hermetic compressors. And, finally, ammonia remains an option for some screw and open compressors. J.L.
