Computer simulation of an absorption refrigeration system using solar energy.

Author(s) : AUDI M. S., TARAWNEH M. T.

Summary

The unit used consists of three flat plate collectors and a concentrator (solar energy). The solution pair selected for this research is water-lithium bromide. A polynomial model with three independent variables was used to predict the temperatures, masses, and energy balances of each component of the unit. The results of the experimental research and those producted by the computer model are very close as the average percentage deviation between the experimental COP and the simulated COP was 0.031.
