Summary
The author describes a computer program, FRIGSIM, developed to compute the heat loss from a domestic refrigerator-freezer. The program is designed to enable changes to be made in dimensions, inside and outside temperatures, insulation material and thickness, and in the type and size of the door gaskets. Future versions will include the thermodynamic cycle. The program to date produces results which compare favourably with experimental data.
