Summary

The performance of Stirling cryocooler is studied based on isothermal mode by computer simulations. The effects of the geometric and operation parameters on theoretical cooling capacity, effective cooling capacity and cold losses are calculated. It is found that the cooling capacity is increased with the increase of the charge pressure and the regenerator length, but has an optimum value with the increase of the regenerator diameter and phase angle. The refrigeration efficiency has an optimum value to the charge pressure, the regenerator length and the regenerator diameter. The conclusions can provide guidance when designing a new Stirling cycle cooler.
