Summary

A DROP BELOW THE DEW POINT LEVEL ON PIPELINES MAY LEAD TO WETTING OF THE ADJACENT INSULATION LAYER. USING THE COND PROGRAM PACKAGE, WHICH SUPPLIES QUANTITATIVE DATA OF THE COMBINED TRANSPORT OF ENERGY, WATER VAPOUR AND CAPILLARY WATER, IT IS POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE HUMIDITY PROFILES IN THE MINERAL WOOL INSULATION LAYER. OTHER RELEVANT QUANTITIES SUCH AS HUMIDITY LEVEL OR REDUCED THERMAL RESISTANCE WHEN FLUID TEMPERATURE, OUTSIDE RELATIVE HUMIDITY, DIFFUSION RESISTANCE OF THE OUTER JACKET AND THE CAPILLARY ABSORBABILITY OF THE INSULATION LAYER ARE SUBJECT TO VARIATIONS, ARE TABULATED AND PLOTTED.
