Summary

MAIN COMPONENTS OF AMMONIA REFRIGERATING PLANTS, LIKE COMPRESSORS, CONDENSERS, EVAPORATORS, AND OIL-AND LIQUID-SEPARATORS, ARE ANALYZED FOR THEIR STRUCTURAL FEATURES, AS COMPARED TO THE COMPONENTS OF CFC REFRIGERATING PLANTS. THE FOLLOWING WERE CONSIDERED AS MOST IMPORTANT CRITERIA FOR THE DIFFERENCES: THE BEHAVIOUR OF CORROSION AGAINST TYPICAL STRUCTURAL MATERIALS, THE THERMAL AND THERMO-PHYSICAL PROPERTIES, NON-MISCIBILITY WITH LUBRICATING OIL FOR REFRIGERATING COMPRESSORS AND TOXICITY AND COMBUSTIBILITY OF THE REFRIGERANT AND THEIR INFLUENCES.
