THE AUTHOR HAS DEVELOPED A DUAL-PURPOSE COLD STORE FOR WHOLESALE FRUIT DEALERS WHERE MOVEABLE INSULATED PARTITIONS CAN CONVERT THE STORE INTO TWO FACILITIES, ONE TO COOL PRODUCTS AND THE OTHER TO DISPLAY THE MERCHANDISE. SUCH AN ARRANGEMENT PROVIDES COST AND LABOUR ECONOMIES, VIZ IT OBVIATES THE TRANSFER OF GOODS FROM THE CENTRAL STORE TO THE MARKET DISPLAY COUNTERS, IT REDUCES DAMAGE TO PRODUCTS DUE TO EXCESSIVE HANDLING IN THESE TRANSFER OPERATIONS AND THE EXPOSURE OF THE PRODUCTS TO AMBIENT AIR IS MINIMIZED BECAUSETHEY CAN BE RAPIDLY TRANSFERRED TO THE COOLING SECTION AT THE END OF THE MARKETING PERIOD.
