Cool thermal storage by vacuum freezing of water with constant volume rate of sublimation.
Author(s) : YEH H. M., CHENG C. Y.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The method is based on solid-liquid-vapour multiple phase transformations of water for conducting direct in-situ crystal formation during off-peak hours and for conducting direct contact in-situ crystal melting operations during on-peak hours. The authors investigate the charging-period operation during which ice storage is taking place by vacuum freezing of water with sublimation of ice at the free surface.
