Based on the design standards and testing regulations for the mechanical draft cooling tower, for the cooling towers with their thermal performance curves not provided by designers, verifies the referred parameter formulas in design standards and testing procedures by practical testing and Excel programming. Especially makes a profound study on the calculation method of the cooling number omega (a characteristic number) and clarifies some ambiguous terms in the testing regulation.
