Summary

MOST OF THE AGRICULTURAL-RESEARCH GREENHOUSES IN THE NETHERLANDS HAVE GOT A RATHER LARGE NUMBER OF SMALL COMPART-MENTS WITH HIGH REQUIREMENTS FOR INNER CLIMATE. SOMETIMES THE COMPARTMENTS HAVE TO BE FREE OF LICE AND EVEN SPORES. VARIOUS MEANS OF COOLING CAN BE USED: COOLING BY OUTSIDE AIR BY WAY OF CONTROLLED HINGE VENTILATION IN THE ROOF ; COOLING BY OUTSIDE AIR SUPPLEMENTED WITH EVAPORATIVE COOLING ; COOLING BY OUTSIDE AIR SUPPLEMENTED WITH REFRIGERATION ; AND COOLING BY REFRIGERATION ONLY. SOME POSSIBLE METHODS FOR COOLING ARE DISCUSSED IN THE ARTICLE.
