Summary

THE RESULTS OF EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF THE CORROSION RESISTANC E OF CARBON STEELS IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF LITHIUM BROMIDES AND LITHIUM CHLORIDES AND OF THE PROTECTION PROPERTIES OF SOME CORROSION INHIBITORSARE PRESENTED. THE RESULTS OBTAINED HAVE SHOWN THAT THE INHIBITORS USED IN INDUSTRY, BASED ON LITHIUM CHROMATE, ONLY PROTECT EFFICIENTLY CARBON STEELS IN THE LIQUID PHASE. THE MOST EFFICIENT INHIBITORS FOR LITHIUM BROMIDE SOLUTION ARE INHIBITORS OF THE ABSORPTION TYPE WHICH CAN PROTECT CARBON STEELS IN 95%, AND MORE, OF CASES. FOR THE PROTECTION OF CARBON STEELS AGAINST CORROSION IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE, IT IS ADEQUATE TO USE EFFICIENTLY BENZOTRIAZOL.
