Summary

PRESENTATION OF TWO DOMAINS OF APPLICATION OF CRYOREFRIGERATION IN GRINDING PROCESSES. GRINDING AT A CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE (MORE OR LESS LOW ACCORDING TO APPLICATIONS) ONLY BALANCES THE HEAT INPUT DUE TO GRINDING ENERGY, IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE DRAWBACKS OF TEMPERA THE PURPOSE OF LOW TEMPERATURE GRINDING IS EXTENDING THE RANGE OF PRODUCTS THAT CAN BE GROUND (OR INCREASING GRINDING FINENESS) BY EMBRITTLING THEM BY STRONG COOLING. SOME DATA ARE GIVEN ON THE COMMISSIONING OF THE PROCESS USING EITHER CARBON DIOXIDE OR LIQUID NITROGEN. J.R.
