Summary

ADVANTAGES OF CRYOFETTLING IN THE PRODUCTION OF CAST PIECES MADE FROM RUBBER OR PLASTICS, FOR THE GOOD QUALITY OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT. FETTLING WITH LIQUID NITROGEN MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO IMPROVE CONSIDERABLY THE TRADITIONAL PROCESS WHICH USES LIQUID CO2, AND TO EXTEND THIS FINISHING PROCESS TO RUBBERMIXES PRESENTING EMBRITTLEMENT TEMPERATURES OF THE FLASHES BETWEEN 203 AND 123 K (-70 AND -150 DEG C). STUDY OF THE VARIOUS FETTLING MACHINES (WITH DRUM OR SHOT BLASTING) AND OF THEIR CHARACTERISTICS (TREATMENT CAPACITY, TREATED MATERIAL, ELECTRICAL POWER REQUIRED). INFLUENCE OF THE FLASH GEOMETRICAL SHAPE ON THE QUALITY OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT. POSSIBILITIES OF CONVERTING CO2 MACHINES INTO LIQUID NITRGNMI. J. V.
