Summary

Cryopreservation of human semen has only focused on long term sperm banking for artificial insemination with donor's semen. This limitation is caused by lowering the semen quality during freeze-thaw processes. If this can be overcome, cryopreservation will provide various advantages not only for artificial insemination with donor's semen but also for artifical insemination with husband's semen and in vitro fertilization-embryo replacement.
