Summary

IN THE PAPER 7 INDUSTRIAL HEAT PUMPS ARE DESCRIBED, WHICH ARE REALISED THROUGH THE NEOM DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM IN THIS FIELD. LAYOUTS, OPERATION, ECONOMY AND EXPERIENCES ARE BRIEFLY TREATED. A SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS DEMONSTRATES HOW ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY IS INFLUENCED BY PRICES OF GAS AND ELECTRICITY. INDUSTRIAL HEAT PUMPS CAN CLEARLY BE ATTRACTIVE FOR PROCESSES WHERE SMALL TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HEAT SOURCE AND SINK EXIST, WHERE HEATING AND COOLING ARE NEEDED AT THE SAME TIME AND FOR DRYING APPLICATIONS.
