Summary
The paper presents the design, dimensioning and operational criteria for different applications of heat pump dryers. The parameters considered are the drying chamber geometry, batch or continuous mode of operation, counter-current flow, drying air temperature and psychrometry, enthalpy and isotherm characteristics. The paper focuses on the evaporator's design and the airflow through the product to be dried.
