A heat pump dryer using carbon dioxide as working fluid.

Author(s) : SCHMIDT E. L., KLÖCKER K., FLACKE N., et al.

Summary

CO2 is both under ecological and economical aspects an attractive alternative to the HFC working fluids being in practical use. Application of CO2 in conventional vapour compression refrigerating systems is limited by its critical parameters. The possibility to use carbon dioxide also beyond these limits is given by the application of a transcritical process. The design, construction and performance of a drying heat pump system are shown.
