Summary
As a beginning step toward the construction of solid desiccant-based adsorption heat pump, a study platform to understand the desiccant-vapour kinetics is to be designed and modelled. In the system, while the desiccant beds are thermally activated and controlled, fully vaporized water (or can be other materials) is supplied to the absorbent beds and form the absorbent-vapour complex. Heat and mass transfer properties of the vapour in the absorbent beds, according to the external transient thermal and pressure inputs, are predicted and discussed. Indeed, a strategy to develop solid desiccant-based adsorption heat pumps is
discussed, based upon the analysis of the current system.
