ON THE BASE OF A LARGE LIST OF REFERENCES, THE AUTHOR DEALS WITH THE CONSERVATION PROBLEMS OF VARIOUS MUSEUM ARTIFACTS, EXPLAININGTHE EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE, HUMIDITY AND AIR QUALITY, AND INDICATES SOME OPTIMUM VALUES AND ACCEPTABLE VARIATION RANGES OF THESE ENVIRONMENTAL PARAMETERS.
