Summary
The paper develops a design model for a combined component-absorber/desorber in a generator-absorber heat exchange (GAX) cycle. Ammonia-water solution pair is used as a working fluid for the GAX cycle. This component acts as absorber and GAX. Fluted tubes were used to enhance heat and mass transfer during the absorption/desorption processes. Diffusion, mass, energy and heat transfer equations were solved simultaneously to calculate the amount of absorbed/desorbed ammonia.
