Summary

IN ORDER TO APPROXIMATE THE LORENTZ PROCESS THROUGH THE USE OF NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT MIXTURES IN HEAT PUMPS, THE EVAPORATOR AND CONDENSER MUST FIRST BE DESIGNED PROPERLY. INTERNAL TEMPERATURE BEHAVIOUR MUST BE ADAPTED TO EXTERIOR MASS FLOW, AND REFRIGERANT PRESSURE LOSSES (ESPECIALLY IN THE EVAPORATOR) MUST BE LIMITED. TO ACCOMPLISH THESE 2 GOALS, CROSS-COUNTER FLOW HEAT EXCHANGERS ARE MORE SUITABLE THAN COUNTER FLOW HEAT EXCHANGERS.
