Summary
After several years of research and development, the first test results of a ready-to-use, compact, hermetic water chiller are available (a water chiller which uses water as refrigerant and a turbocompressor). This new machine has a performance range between 500 and 1000 kilowatts, depending on the chosen evaporation temperature. Chilled water can be provided at a temperature range between 0 deg C and 20 deg C. The R718 process takes place in the vacuum. Proper functioning has been demonstrated using a full-size experimental unit.
