Summary

A modified gaseous components system for controlled atmosphere storage using a gas separation membrane was designed, constructed and tested. The membrane is permeable to CO2, oxygen and nitrogen consecutively. A distinctive feature of the system is the application of gas circuit selection to obtain the desired modified gaseous components. It was effective in decreasing CO2 content and increasing oxygen content, but nitrogen introduction to the chamber was left to a future study. The method of controlling gaseous components in the chamber is discussed.
