Summary

Amidst controversy, a middle school in Washington State was closed in 1994 following an episode in which numerous children became ill. Although no agents could be identified, perception by the school community was that poor indoor air quality existed within the school. Describes actions taken to design and implement an IAQ management plan to establish building monitoring requirements prior to the successful re-occupation of the school for the 1994-1995 school year.
